Janet is recognized as a multi-media artist. Her award winning work has been in many juried exhibitions including Bayou City Art Festival, Houston International Festival, Salado Art Festival, Texas Renaissance Festival and many festivals in Austin and San Antonio, as well as the Louisiana Renaissance Festival.
She won Best of Show 2007 at Sugar Land Area Artists Open Spring Show, Best Professional Artist and Best Sculpture/Jewelry Artist other Sugar Land Area Artists Open Shows. Her work has gone on to win First Place at the Lone Star Art League Convention, a competition of all winning works of the previous year.
Her work is also in private collections in both Wales and England in the UK, Canada, China, and many other private collections throughout the United States.
She has an all level degree in art education from the University of Houston and attributes her interest in many medias to her years of teaching art to grades five through high school.
Janet currently teaches art classes to adults and children in Sugar Land at Artists’ Alliance Art School and Gallery, home of Sugar Land Area Artists. She also teaches in Rosenberg, home of Art League of Fort Bend. She demonstrates her award winning techniques and teaches workshops at art organizations throughout Texas.
She is a past president of Sugar Land Area Artists and is still active in that group, Art League of Fort Bend, Colored Pencil Society and Lone Star Art Guild.
